“Ya mom we’re still at the mall. Arnold is signing up for another store credit card. He’ll get $5 dollars off his next purchase of $100 dollars or more if made within the next 30 days. “
“Oh, you know Arnold, he can’t turn down a deal. It doesn’t matter if it’s a good deal or if it’s a bad deal.”
“No, I don’t need you to come down here. Arnold doesn’t even really like this store. He says it’s overpriced and doesn’t have a very good selection.”
“I don’t know. Look, I’ll talk to you later.”
Arnold’s wife ends the call, takes a deep breath and walks over to Arnold who is holding up the checkout line as he fills out a questionnaire on a micro checkout display.
“Arnold honey, how much longer is it going to be?”
“Hold on Sweetheart” Arnold replies. “I only have another 30 questions to answer before I get my discount for next visit.”
Although visibly shaking with rage, Arnold tries to remain as calm as possible. His wife just doesn’t understand how important it is to save money. No matter how much or how little. Saving even $5 dollars can add up over the course of a decade. Arnold has tried, on several occasions, to help his wife understand the power of saving, especially when combined with couponing, but she just doesn’t get it! She keeps buying her pumpkin spice latte’s ever chance she gets. And she never helps Arnold cut out coupons, not even on Sundays!
What should Arnold do to show his wife and HER MOTHER just how important it is to save?
